A Story ------- For some reasons MUI seems to cause some people to directly walk up the wall and explode up there in a shivering mess of emotions. This is nothing new, I do remember times when AmigaOS 2.0 and all it's "incompatibilities" made people do the same, telling everyone how great their nifty 1.3 setup is. Recently, I've started to write a IRC client on my own, MUI based, as it's a must for up-to-date Amiga applications. It's still in the early alpha phase, I did however send it to a lot of people on ArcNet to gather opinions about it's design and that stuff. Suddenly, a virus infested copy of two of the alpha versions showed up. Someone added a nasty link virus to the program and started to spread it all around. Of course, this has caused quite a rave on IRC. Lucky enough, there's already a VirusZ update which can fix this thingy. I found out who did that, too. Someone out of the people who got early AMIRC alphas had plans to do his own IRC client, not based on MUI. When he saw the AMIRC alpha, he immediately dropped that project. This guy has a friend who is a flaming MUI hater, who kept begging him to finish his non-MUI IRC client since MUI applications would dicksuck anyway. Therefore, the guy forwarded two of the AMIRC alphas to his friend in order to prove him wrong. Coincidence, that two versions where exactly the version which showup to virus infested later on. The flaming MUI hater told me later that he would do *anything* to make his friend start his non MUI IRC client again. He obviously meant it. Conclusion? Never trust anyone telling bullshit about MUI again. He might not simply be an idiot, but far, far worse...
